Advanced Practicum Placement
The Centre for MindBody Health (CMBH) is offering an advanced practicum placement (for 2nd placement or higher) for the 2025-2026 academic year. As a private practice, we are committed to providing exceptional clinical psychology education with a focus on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and other mindfulness-based modalities. Led by our clinic directors, Dr. Shelley McMain and Dr. Shari Geller—renowned experts in DBT, EFT, Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and Therapeutic Presence—we are dedicated to fostering both clinical excellence and a supportive, inclusive community of practice. At CMBH, we strive to offer not only comprehensive clinical training but also a welcoming environment where students feel safe and supported in their professional growth.

Key Features of Our Programs:
- Specialized Training in DBT or EFT: Acquire comprehensive skills in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) or Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). While prior expertise is an asset, it is not a prerequisite, as we are committed to fostering your growth.
- International Expert-Led Trainings: Attend trainings conducted by distinguished international experts, ensuring exposure to cutting-edge practices and methodologies. You will also have access to a library of past recordings, including workshops by: Dr. Leslie Greenberg (EFT), Dr. Martin Bohus (Trauma-Focused DBT), and Deb Dana (Polyvagal Theory).
- Monthly Lunch and Learn Seminars: Engage in monthly seminars, each on a different specialty topic presented by an expert.
- Diverse Clinical Exposure: Tailor your experience to align with your learning objectives while typically engaging with cases encompassing emotion dysregulation, trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and more.
- Intimate Small Group Supervision: Benefit from personalized small group supervision sessions, including participation in weekly DBT consultation team and/or EFT group supervision (currently under the guidance of Dr. Leslie Greenberg).
- Potential to Co-Facilitate DBT Skills Group: Depending on interest and availability, you may be able to participate in the co-facilitation of a DBT skills group.
- Community Building: Participate in our Sanghas and clinic soirees that build a closely-knit community of practice.
- Monthly Clinical Case Rounds: Participate as part of the broader clinical team to discuss complex cases and share insights. Twice a year, practicum students are expected to present a clinical case, receiving valuable, expert feedback from experienced clinicians to enhance their learning and clinical practice.
- Access to Admin Support: CMBH has a full suite of both on-site administrative support as well as electronic record keeping, scheduling and billing.
