We are excited to host Dr. Leslie Greenberg and Dr. Rhonda Goldman, both internationally-renowned clinical psychologists and researchers in the field of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). Drs. Greenberg and Goldman will provide a two-day online training, “Working with Emotions and the Therapeutic Relationship in Teletherapy”.

About the Workshop

This workshop will focus upon establishing the therapeutic relationship and working with emotion in teletherapy. We will address many questions that therapists have encountered as we transition to new teletherapy platforms. Questions to be tackled will include how to set up a therapeutic alliance, how to offer moment by moment empathic attunement, how to deepen emotion, and how to facilitate chair work online. Video demonstration material will be viewed and discussed.

All health care professionals seeking to refine their skills in delivering psychotherapy in an online context.

 

Webinar Recording

This two-day webinar will be recorded. Recordings will be shared with all registrants within 5-7 days of the webinar taking place. These will be available for 60 days once the recordings are released.

Presenters

Leslie Greenberg, Ph.D., C.Psych. is one of the originators and primary developers of Emotion-Focused Therapy for individuals and couples. He is a Distinguished Research Professor of Psychology at York University in Toronto, Ontario. Dr. Greenberg is actively involved in the training, research, and development of Emotion-Focused Therapy at the Emotion-Focused Therapy Clinic. He travels throughout North America and internationally providing presentations/workshops in Emotion-Focused Therapy. He has co-authored seminal texts on emotion-focused approaches to treatment, including Emotion in Psychotherapy (1986), Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (1988), Facilitating Emotional Change (1993), Emotion-Focused Therapy: Coaching Clients to Work Through Emotions (2002). His more recent works include Emotion-Focused Therapy of Depression (2006), Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy: The Dynamics of Emotion, Love and Power (2008), and Emotion-Focused Therapy: Theory and Practice (2010).

Rhonda Goldman, Ph.D. is a Full Professor in the Clinical Psychology Department at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has co-authored numerous texts on Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). Her most recent volume is Deliberate Practice in Emotion-Focused Therapy (March 2021). She has also published the Clinical Handbook of Emotion-Focused Therapy (2019), Case Formulation in Emotion-Focused Therapy: Co-Constructing Clinical Maps for Change (2015). Other books include Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy: The Dynamics of Emotion, Love, and Power (2008), Case Studies in Emotion-Focused Treatment of Depression (2007) and Learning Emotion-Focused Therapy (2004). Dr. Goldman has also prepared two training video, published by the American Psychological Associatio, on Emotion-Focused Therapy, one on case formulation and the other on EFT with couples. Dr. Goldman conducts research on EFT for couples, emotional processes, empathy, vulnerability, depression, case formulation, and self-soothing. She teaches graduate courses in Humanistic and Experiential Psychotherapy, Psychotherapy Seminars, and Emotion-Focused Therapy.

Dr. Goldman is a founding board member of the International Society of Emotion-focused Therapy. She is an action editor for the journal Person-centered and Experiential Psychotherapies. She is the past-president of the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration. She runs Emotion-focused Therapy, Chicago, a private practice where she sees both couples and individuals. She travels internationally conducting training workshops for mental health professionals in Emotion-focused therapy for Couples and Individuals.

Registration Confirmation: Please allow 1-2 business days for our workshop staff to confirm your registration. We will email you an official receipt upon confirmation, including further details on workshop format and preparation materials.

Cancellation and Refund Policy: An administrative fee of $50 will be charged for cancellations. For a refund, written notification must be received by May 1, 2021. Written notice of cancellation should be emailed to cmbh@cmbh.space. For cancellations made after May 1, 2021 you may apply a credit to a future CMBH workshop. CMBH reserves the right to cancel workshops due to unforeseen circumstances.

 

Continuing Education (CE) Credits

OPA  Approved for 6 CE credits.
MDPAC  Approved for 2.75 hours of MDPAC Group CE credits per day or total of 5.5 hours of MDPAC Group CE credits for 2 days.
OCSWSSW  Social workers and social service workers may use this activity towards meeting requirements of OCSWSSW’s Continuing Competence Program.
CRPO  Psychotherapists may use this activity towards meeting requirements of the CRPO’s Quality Assurance Program.

Participants must attend both days of the webinar in real-time to receive a certificate of completion detailing CE credits. Attendance will be noted manually by our workshop staff on both days. Participants who are unable to attend one or both days of the webinar may view the recordings once they are released and can be provided a questionnaire upon request to receive full CE credits.
