Nicole Notarfonzo is registered as a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She completed her Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Alberta and has completed extensive post secondary training in approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for both individuals, couples and families. Nicole has over a decade of experience facilitating groups, as well as providing assessment and psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and adults. She approaches each client as a unique individual and integrates elements of various approaches into her treatment plans as is relevant to each person’s needs and desires. At CMBH, Nicole also offers couples therapy. She has training in both Emotion Focused Therapy for Couples as well as the Gottman Method and integrates both when addressing the unique needs of each couple. Nicole has experience treating a variety of disorders including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and interpersonal challenges. She is particularly passionate about interpersonal relationships and enjoys providing support to parents, couples, and any individual who is struggling with current relationships or prior relational wounds. Her aim in therapy is to help clients develop greater awareness of their internal experience, cope with distressing symptoms, and ultimately choose behaviours that will help them cultivate fulfilling relationships and greater peace.
