Jennifer Ip is a psychologist in supervised practice. At Centre for MindBody Health, her work is supervised by Dr. Shari Geller. She completed her doctoral training in clinical psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). She completed her pre-doctoral residency at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH). She has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, family health teams, and in private practice. Currently, in addition to her role at CMBH, Jennifer works as a staff psychologist at SJHH in the Borderline Personality Disorders Service and Youth Wellness Centre.
Jennifer provides assessment and psychotherapy services to transition-aged youth (ages 18-25) and adults who struggle with emotional and behavioural difficulties, including depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress, borderline personality disorder, troubles with self-identity, and relationship problems. Her clinical practice is client-centred, informed by dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
Jennifer believes that her role as therapist is to connect with her clients’ aliveness, humanity, and wholeness; to empower and collaborate with her clients to find ways to understand and accept painful emotional experiences; and to help clients work toward goals for a life worth living.
If you’d like to work with Jennifer, please schedule a Discovery Call with our Care Coordination Team. They will reach you at your chosen time and then move your request forward to Jennifer or another more suitable therapist right away.
