Shannen is a Ph.D. student in Clinical & Counselling Psychology at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto, where she also received her MA in Clinical and Counselling Psychology. She is currently completing her practicum placement at CMBH under the supervision of Dr. Tanya Teall. During her previous clinical training, Shannen worked with adults struggling with Anxiety and Mood Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, and interpersonal difficulties. She has training in various therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT). Shannen adopts an integrative approach focused on non-judgemental, collaborative and client-centered care grounded in developing an effective and tailored treatment plan. She prioritizes creating a safe and affirming space for her clients to work towards their therapeutic goals.
